When we have doubts... Look up in the dictionary!
Today in the English classroom it happened something extraordinary. A student said she did not agree with the teacher. GREAT!!!! I'm happy because it means she was thinking and she was listening to me :)
The case was with the word "NEWS". Although it seems plural, it is treated as singular. Why? It's an exception to the rule, no more.
In future cases (and I hope there are going to be more cases in which you have doubts ;) ) you can use these reference websites:
- Wordreference Dictionary and forums (http://forum.wordreference.com/threads/everyone-is-news-is-singular-vs-plural.1911560/)
- Merrian-Webster (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/news)
- Collins Dictionary (http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/news)
Could you explain what happens with "MATHS"? ;)

ResponderEliminarMarcos
Lo sé, Marcos. Pero tenéis que tener claro que se juega fuera del pabellón, porque dentro puede haber accidentes como el que habría podido ocurrir hoy. Ya lo hemos hablado y está aclarado, sé que lo has aprendido. Colabora para que tus compañeros también lo tengan claro, ¿vale?.
ResponderEliminarHasta mañana, ;)
P.D: By the way, it is said: "I'm sorry" and the correct sentence would be "I'm sorry for what happened before".
"I feel" se usa para frases de otro tipo, aunque también se refiere a "Yo siento"

ResponderEliminarHola Cristina una pregunta ,como se hacian los deberes de semana santa en ingles o en español ?
ResponderEliminarEnrique.
En Inglés, Enrique, para mis asignaturas siempre en inglés.
EliminarHope you are enjoying the holidays!
